Bill Stewart
Drummer and composer Bill Stewart (b. 1966 in Des Moines, Iowa, USA) studied under Eliot Zigmund, Rufus Reed, and Dave Samuels at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey before moving to NYC after his graduation in 1988. Once in New York, he worked and recorded with such major musicians as John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Maceo Parker, and Joe Lovano. His association with Hammond organist Larry Goldings and guitarist Peter Bernstein began in 1989 and continues to this day. Stewart’s album Snide Remarks was named one of the top ten CDs of 1995 by The New York Times.
